We look forward to speaking with you rather than speaking to you. We speak to start discussions and we start discussions to learn. The questions and discussions that result from our public speaking tell us what we need to focus on: the information we need to present before we’re asked.

Unfortunately, most speaker bureaus don’t offer an architecture category so it can be difficult to find an architect with public speaking experience. We meet that challenge by translating complex issues into plain language presentations for particular audiences like members of the public, realtors, builders and others.

Asking an Audience
We encourage questions so audiences become comfortable with our level of technical expertise and steer the discussion. We offer candid comments from the perspective of an advocate and project team leader. We incorporate action items and use calls to action to help audience members find specific ways to get involved. We also forecast the potential effects of emerging issues and technologies so you’ll know what planning should be underway.

No Pressure
One of the most important aspects of our speaking is that we don’t sell. We don’t push books, DVDs, webinars, coaching calls or other products. We also don’t push our services. We maintain a small firm that simply can’t provide services to the number of audience members we address in a given year. That revelation is a disarming way to start a presentation: you can use the information we provide even if we never get to see you again… though we hope we’ll stay in touch.

Public speaking and travelling brings us into contact with lots of wonderful people, great resources and new opportunities. We’re happy to share our network, expertise and experience with you!

We have experience delivering short presentations for both executive summaries and single-topic in-depth discussions. (Ryan has even delivered a PechaKucha to the Atlanta chapter of the Social Media Club.) Many of the topics we present can be combined into longer sessions for half-day or day-long presentations. The longest presentation we typically deliver is fourteen hours over two days. Let us know your schedule and vision; we might be able to suggest some topics and ideas you’ve not yet considered.

Lesson Learned: If you’re ever invited to address a large group of people seated in a furniture store,
don’t let the Owner put a tall lamp in front of the screen!

Completed speaking engagements include: The Remodeling Show, The International Builders Show, National Green Building Conference, International Propane Expo, Georgia Environmental Conference, American Institute of Architects Georgia Convention, University of Tennessee, Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, National Ground Water Association EXPO, Georgia Association of REALTORS® Convention, the Texas Green Home Summit and more!
