How to Harvest Trees on Residential Properties
Tuesday 04 June 2024
4 PM to 5 PM Eastern
Why are we meeting?
The trees on your property have the potential to be much more than wood chips or firewood - the fate awaiting most trees removed from residential properties. They could be flooring, siding, furniture, structure, shelving or any number of other lasting contributions to your property or your family.
We’ll start our journey with harvesting a tree on a residential property (pictured below) so we can discuss identifying good candidates for harvesting, finding a tree company and a processor.
We’ll continue with a review of the handling, transportation and processing/milling issues to consider. In the image below, a harvested tree is getting its first cuts on an enormous band saw.
We’ll conclude our meeting with a discussion about what to expect from your processor or mill. What could your wood become? It might be much more valuable than you assume!
